In November 2025, I travelled to Venezuela despite all the warnings. I was captivated by Caracas, with its colonial architecture and vibrant city centre, and never once felt a sense of insecurity. The sights were breathtaking: the Araya desert peninsula, the Orinoco Delta and the Humboldt Cave. But the absolute highlight was Canaima. The magical canoe trip to the Salto Ángel, the world’s tallest waterfalls, was simply enchanting – made even more so by a rainbow arching over the thundering waters. Venezuela is a beautiful country that has given me unforgettable memories. And I didn’t regret it for a second.

Venezuela is a magnificent country, the contrasts, the Andes with 5000 metres of altitude, the Caribbean with turquoise water and flying fish, as well as the Llanos Nature Park with the capybaras and the anaconda, the cloud forest with hummingbirds, Caracas with parrots and futuristic architecture.

Looking beyond the horizon! This trip showed once again how important it is to think outside the box. To see that life can be so beautiful, colourful and worth living, regardless of money.
